Located at an altitude of approximately 3,888 meters (12,756 feet) in the union territory of <strong>Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong>, this ancient pilgrimage site is revered by millions of Hindus as the holy abode of <strong>Lord Shiva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, thousands of devotees undertake the <strong>Amarnath Yatra<\/strong> to witness the mystical <strong>ice Shivlinga<\/strong> that forms naturally inside the cave. But beyond the snow and spiritual fervour lies an age-old story\u2014<strong>the immortal tale of Lord Shiva and the secret of life and eternity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd49\ufe0f <strong>The Story Behind Amarnath<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s start the story of the Amarnath. The  <strong>Goddess Parvati<\/strong>, consort of Lord Shiva, once asked him the secret of immortality. She was curious to know why he wore a garland of skulls and what the story behind his immortality was. Responding to her curiosity, Shiva decided to narrate the story but wanted to do so in absolute secrecy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure no one else heard this sacred knowledge, Shiva searched for a secluded and quiet place. He chose a remote cave in the Himalayas\u2014what is now known as the <strong>Amarnath Cave<\/strong>.
